Due to the rise of technology most organisations compete based primarily on their people

The ability to recruit, engage and retain quality employees is the most challenging and expensive priority. People think, behave and work in such different ways that it causes stress, confusion, disengagement which leads to high staff turnover and poor customer retention as they have plenty of other options to choose from. This challenge multiplies across various cultural groups such as generations, nationalities, ethnicities, personality types, professions, genders, etc.

Ignoring cultural differences silently and seriously destroys performance

0
87% of CEOs KNOW that addressing leadership, culture and engagement are of the upmost importance (Deloitte, 2015)

Jorge worked for me for approximately 5 years. He initially joined the Latin American supply chain team as a senior program manager and quickly proved himself very capable of getting things done. With a solid engineering background and knowledge of Cisco products and Latin American customers, Jorge was a very valued member of the team. Within 18 months he was promoted to manager with staff in San Jose, CA, Miami, Mexico City, and Sao Paulo. He was responsible for the management of the outsourced supply chain program with companies like UPS and Flash Global Logistics. Jorge proved to be a very focused manager who set clear strategies for his team and partners.

“The Platinum Rule® model spans all cultures BUT it is important to remember that people around the world are socialized into a certain preferred way of behaving and The InterCultural DISC® model explains why. “ This is the ideal tool in today’s fast-paced, globalized world where the new generation of business people and leaders need to be culturally intelligent and adaptable without being experts in 100s of different cultures. “
